Le tableau provient de la collection du prince Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen et appartient au syndicat qui a acheté cette collection. Il a été acquis par le prince Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen en 1864 de la collection Cohen à Bonn (A.S. Drey à la CD, 03.10.1932). Le tableau est examiné par la commission d’art ancien en sa séance du 10.10.1932. A l’unanimité le tableau ext jugé intéressant et on en propose 175.000 frs. Le tableau demeure conservé au Musée jusqu’en juin 1935.
