L’Album de dessin a été gravé pour l’enseignement à l’Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles. Le ministre attire l’attention de la commission du Musée sur le fait que l’Etat ne possède pas de collection de dessins originaux de maîtres et qu’il s’agit d’une lacune à remplir. Le Musée projette la création d’une telle collection mais recommande néanmoins d’acquérir l’album de Jacobs pour la Bibliothèque royale.
