Le RPV, séance du 17 mars 1857 (p. 173), nous apprend que ce tableau de Jordaens a été vu @ Malines par Navez et qu’il ne s’agit que d’une copie du tableau de Jordaens exposé au Louvre sous le titre Le Roi boit (Louvre, inv. 1406). En conséquence il est résolu de ne pas acquérir le tableau présenté par Mr Wynen. A noter que le dossier ne comporte pour seule mention de titre que : Une collation champêtre, et que sans l’apport d’information des PV, l’œuvre n’aurait pu être identifiée comme réplique du Roi boit.
